We didn't rush leaving Bauge, it was already getting warm so we just took it easy. I tidied up the garage which keeps getting in a right mess. While I was doing this a Scotsman who had arrived on site with his daughter late last night came over to say hello. He is travelling with his 14 year old daughter who has had a liver transplant and needs a bit of sun to help her get better, sounds like they have had a pretty bad time of it. He said he was a train driver until recently but managed to get redundancy from the train company which has helped him with looking after his daughter. He has moved from driving trains to being a qualified masseuse and body piercer apparently - quite a change of career!
When we were ready we headed off to our next stop at Le Coudray Macouard, only about 20 miles away, stopping at an Aldi supermarket on the way. We mainly needed bread and milk but it turns out this shop sells neither of those basic items, very strange. The aire is situated in a copse of oak trees and there are supposedly some red squirrels here, but we didn't see any. The village is only about a 5 minute walk away but all the shops were closed when we visited.
As I type this (19.00) its only us on the aire. A couple of other vans appeared a few hours ago and used the (very basic) bourne but didn't stay.
PS We did get a glimpse of a red squirrel after all, not quick enough with the camera to get a photo though.
Hi PK.
