15th September 2016 - Good Weather For The Seaside

I had Ruby booked in for her MOT at a garage in Attleborough. Lynda decided that she would come with me and, once I had got that precious piece of paper, we would head off to the coast somewhere.

According to Lynda today is the last day of the fine weather, tomorrow onwards will be quite a bit cooler if we can believe the forecast.

A few years ago, when we had our first van, we had a drive to Caister on Sea which was quite pleasant so we thought we would head that way again, its not far. All was going very well, we got to the town and Lynda went to the fish and chip shop to get us our lunch. All we had to do now was find a place to park up.

Last time we were here we parked in a large car park very near the beach and lifeboat station. We drove the short distance down the road only to find - they have installed height barriers! We could see there were only a few cars parked and there would be loads of space for us but it wasn't to be.

So, off to another seaside town we have visited before, Gorleston, only about 10 minutes away via Great Yarmouth.

Soon as we got to Gorleston we found a large on street parking space on Marine Parade, free as well.

We sat and ate our fish and chips which were still hot enough, then set off to have a look round. We were nearer the beach than we thought and, after getting an ice cream each, we went for a walk on the wide expanse of sand. We got as far as the wet stuff and had a bit of a paddle, water was only about an inch deep though.

There were only a few people on the beach even though its a very hot and sunny day. I had soon had enough of being out in the sun so we wandered back to Ruby and enjoyed a leisurely drive back to the storage site.

We easily found a parking space so that's
Gorleston 1, Caister 0

Large, empty, sandy beach.

Finances at the Police must be tough, they can't
even afford to keep this kiosk open.

There was a chap racing his model power boat round the
boating lake, going really fast.

We had an ice cream each, Lynda had her favourite -
an oyster. Only £1.50 each too.

I found myself humming the theme from 'Jaws'
I don't know why.....

Okay, some photos from Lynda's phone camera....
