21st April 2017 - A 'Lorra Lorra' Fun!

Luckily we still had some left over bacon in the fridge so we could enjoy a very nice bacon sandwich for breakfast today. Last year when we came to the Peterborough show we went on the Friday coach trip to a wet and cold Stamford. This year we decided to spend the day walking round the show and taking it easy.

When we were eventually all ready we went for a look round the exhibition area. By the time we got there the gates were open and there were plenty of day visitors about. As the day wore on some areas were actually quite crowded which is good news for the companies who have paid thousands for the privelige of selling their wares.

Unfortunately, in a moment of weakness I spent money on a new Taylor Made silver screen for the van, really good quality though and a perfect fit so worth the £144 cost. The old, cheap screen I have been using for the past year or so I gave away to a nearby camper. He must have thought it was okay because it was soon installed on his van.

Once we had had a pretty good look round we thought maybe we would head back to the vans and chill out for a while. We all had delicious Cornish pasties, one or two of us managed to wait till we got back to the vans to finish them off.

We didn't buy much else at the show, Lynda bought a 12 volt hairdryer which will no doubt turn out to be rubbish. More useful were the extra plates and bowls she bought to match the set we have.

After we had sat and had a gossip in what Paul sometimes calls his tent, gazebo or 'sun room' (pretentious?, moi?) I went off to have a bit of a snooze before it was time to get ready for tonight's show.

Two acts on tonight, the first of which was the Cilla Show. This was a young girl (by our standards) presenting a tribute to Cilla Black of course. She sang all the old Cilla favourites interspersed with a little bit of chat, attempting a suitable Liverpool accent.

There were plenty of people on the dance floor and there were enough shouts of 'more' to ensure got an extra song, Alfie.

At one of the previous shows we have been to we have been treated to a show by The Amazing Blues Brothers so we knew what to expect from the next turn.

This is an 8 piece line up, complete with trumpet and saxophone. We really like live music and we were entertained once again with their high energy act. The dance floor is right in front of the stage and it was pretty crowded, quite right too.

All six of us sat in our van and had a nightcap and chat about the evening's show.

Lovely new silver screen. Fits right over the
windscreen wipers too.

Paul and Barb by their van.

Lynda got a good photo with Cilla after her show.

Amazing Blues Brothers in this one. Who is
that photo bombing?

Back at our van for a nightcap. Of course Paul wanted our expensive
hot chocolate. Its not from Aldi you know!
