We are staying at New Dover Road Park and Ride aire Canterbury for a second night. We were both pretty worn out after our (to us) epic 700 mile drive across France.
Lynda has made us go for two walks today, both times we ended up at Sainsburys.
I eventually managed to book us into a site (no reply all day). We are staying on a very quiet little site called Beside Denver Mill, near Downham Market in Norfolk. We stayed here before actually just over 4 years ago. It costs a very reasonable £10 a night including electricity.
We regard ourselves as being in 'self isolation'. We have no symptoms of Corona virus thank goodness but we think of ourselves as being comparatively 'high risk' as we have been to two countries where the disease is rife, especially Spain.
Lynda has heard from Jan, via Whatsapp, who says our old site of Los Llanos is in virtual 'lockdown' with many new restrictions, good job we left when we did.
17th March.
Its about 140 miles to our new site from Canterbury, via our daughter and son in law's place near Diss to collect some shopping and say 'hello'.
We have had Ruby for 7 and a half years and during that time we have not had any major mishaps.
On our way down to Spain we stopped at a nice place called Le Tiech. When looking for the aire I had to turn Ruby round in a side road. I was reversing back when there was a sickening crunch - Lynda said I had reversed into a tree!
Several weeks later when Lynda was driving, we were on our way to Le Boulou (I think) when we were just leaving the motorway and passing some road cones when Lynda realised there was one more cone to pass.
Too late we hit the last cone and left behind a small piece of Ruby's bodywork!
Ouch 1 - the tree ran out behind me, honest guv! It's worse than it looks.
Ouch 2 - there is a bit of Ruby's bodywork on a French motorway.
