Lynda and I arrived first (by car) and went for a walk on the pebbly beach. Weather is very grey today with a bit of drizzle but not too cold considering we are right on the coast. Waves were crashing in quite a bit, would be fun to be here when there is a real storm blowing.
Lynda originally said she wanted to head for home straight after lunch so that we would be traveling while it was still light. In the end of course the lure of the shops was too strong so we had our usual walk up and down Aldeburgh High Street before heading back to the car. By this time the wind had really got up and we were glad to be back at the car park.
Lynda was driving on the way home and it was a bit of a long and tortuous journey in the rain and dark but we made it in the end.
Anyway, the main purpose of this post is to say 'Happy New Year' to the blog reader and tell you about the few plans we have for motorhome trips in 2017.
As you may have noticed we are now big fans of the Warners outdoor motorhome shows and this morning I booked our place once again at the Newbury show in May. This is the second one of the year, we are starting off with the biggest show at Peterborough. Usual great entertainment lineup at Newbury including one of our very favourite bands on the Sunday evening - The Ivy League.
Before that though we are heading to Cornwall next month to visit friends and family. February may not be the best time of year for the 366 mile journey but we will have to see. We only have 10 nights away so there will not be a lot of time to hang about.
In June we are heading for Normandy and Brittany which we are really looking forward to. Thats about all the plans we have so far for 2017, plenty more to come no doubt.
A New Years Day walk on the beach at Aldeburgh - this is before the weather turned nasty!
Happy New Year to all.
